Dominic Thiem reached another milestone in his comeback by earning the 150th clay-court victory of his ATP career at the Gstaad Open in Switzerland.

The 2020 US Open champion defeated Argentina's Federico Delbonis 7–6 (8–6), 6–3 to advance to his second consecutive ATP quarterfinal.

The victory made Thiem the 10th active player to record at least 150 tour-level wins on clay and the first player born in 1990 or later to achieve the milestone.

After returning from a nine-month wrist injury layoff, the Austrian lost his first six ATP Tour matches of the season. However, strong performances in Bastad and Gstaad indicate that the former World No. 3 is steadily returning to his best form.

Following his run in Bastad, Thiem climbed from No. 339 to No. 274 in the ATP Rankings, with another significant rise expected after his results in Gstaad.
