Australian Open: Tommy Paul Reaches His First Grand Slam Semifinal

American Tommy Paul defeated fellow American Ben Shelton to reach the semifinals of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time in his career.

Before the tournament, few expected both Americans to make such a deep run. However, Paul and Shelton exceeded all expectations with their impressive performances in Melbourne.

Paul won the all-American quarterfinal 7–6(6), 6–3, 5–7, 6–4 to secure his place in the last four.

He will face the winner of the Novak Djokovic – Andrey Rublev quarterfinal.

The semifinal is scheduled for January 27 at 7:00 AM (Baku time).
