20-Week Gardashlar Mebel Doubles Championship 2024 Set to Begin
The Gardashlar Mebel Doubles Championship 2024, a 20-week ranked doubles series, will begin on Sunday, June 9, at 5:00 PM at the Tennis.az courts near Zabitlar Park.
The tournament will be held every Sunday in a doubles format. Players will earn:
- 10 ranking points for participation,
- 10 points for each match won,
- an additional 10 points for winning the tournament.
According to the current Tennis.az League divisions:
- League 1 players may partner only with League 5 players;
- League 2 players with League 4 or 5 players;
- League 3 players with League 3, 4, or 5 players;
- League 4 players with League 2, 3, or 4 players;
- League 5 players with League 1, 2, or 3 players.
Players who are not participating in the League may enter based on the highest ranking they have previously achieved. The same doubles team may compete together only once per month.
This format is designed to create balanced competition and give every participant a realistic opportunity to finish in the top five of the rankings.
At the end of the championship, the top five ranked players will earn invitations to an amateur tennis tournament in Batumi, Georgia.
