World TeamTennis Seeks New Franchises for 2023

World TeamTennis (WTT), the mixed-gender league co-founded by Billie Jean King, will not hold a season in 2022 but plans to return in 2023.

The league has announced its intention to expand by adding new franchises ahead of the 2023 season. The expansion fee has been set at $1 million per franchise.

After staging single-site competitions during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021, WTT plans to return to its traditional format, with matches being played on the home courts of participating teams.
