WIMBLEDON: ELENA RYBAKINA IS THE CHAMPION

Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan claimed the 2022 Wimbledon women's singles title, defeating Tunisia's Ons Jabeur in the final to win her first Grand Slam championship.

Seeded No. 17, the 23-year-old had never reached a Grand Slam semifinal before her remarkable run at the All England Club. Her triumph made her one of the biggest breakthrough champions in recent women's tennis.
